I received this lamp today and as other reviews suggest, this is a nicely crafted reading lamp and it fits perfectly on the Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6″ Display, U.S. Wireless). It’s bright but not as glaringly bright as the Ozeri Kandle LED Book Light lamp I had purchased previously. The other nice thing about it is that it fits the Kindle2 while housed in the Amazon Kindle Black Leather Cover w/ strap (Fits 6″ Display, Latest Generation Kindle). It’s a nice solid brushed aluminum, sits at the perfect angle and comes with simple directions and battery. Glad it’s finally available from Amazon as the shipping from the manufacturer is outrageous — speaking of shipping, I got it a day early with prime.

This light is great for my Kindle 2. It fits over my Kindle’s DecalGirl skin, and doesn’t fall off even if I turn the Kindle on end and upside down. I tend to just leave it attached, and consider it an excellent upgrade to my Kindle. Using an AA battery is a great advantage over the watch batteries of other book lights. Plus, it lights up the whole page quite well. I only wish there was something as well designed for regular books.

They finally made this light available on amazon after months of early reviews. It comes in basic bulk packaging so I guess they aren’t quite ready for retail. I’d say it was worth the wait though. Very light, compact, and gives a very even light. Completely blows away the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 I was using before. If you’re looking for a light on your K2 then I would say this is the light to get.

Very nice light. The only way I can get glare on the screen is to tip my kindle back far enough that I can actually see the light itself. The battery is extremely easy to change, no screws or hard covers to remove, and I like that it uses a standard AA.

I love this reading light. It provides me with some peace of mind that my wife will get some sleep without me disturbing her while I read. This light is simple and cool looking. I can read and have low glare from this device. I actually see the whole page of screen and the keys on the keyboard below my Kindle 2’s screen. This item uses a single AAA battery that is very easy to install. I tried the Kandle and I was very disappointed. That particular reading light that has alot of potential, but with a design flaw that gives you more glare up top and hardly any light towards the bottom of the screen. I believe the Kindle can be better if the light could extend more out away from the body. I tried the Belkin reading light and I liked how it attached to the top of the Kindle, but it had a big battery compartment attached to the back and the neck was a little to long, but manageable. The biggest problem with the Belkin is that the lowest setting produces alots of glare on the screen and was very uncomfortable for my eyes and my wife’s. Plus my wife couldn’t get any sleep if I tried to read with the Belkin reading light.
The Octovo has only light brightness. To turn on/off the light you would have to swing out the little light arm on the very top. The only gripe I have with this product is that I wished it was better quality for the price I paid. I still will not return it, because I really enjoy using it and its the best one I found compared the others I tried and returned. I have tried the Kandle, Belkin reading light, and the M-edge reading light. I really like the M-edge reading light, because of four things: its more compact than the OCTOVO Solis (which is still compact), the little swivel neck, and the two levels of brightness, less glare than OCTOVO SOLIS (which is not bad but the M-edge has a better job with the ability to move around the swivel neck that helps with glare). The only downfall and which was the reason I returned the M-edge reading light is because I have to use certain cases from M-edge that have a pocket for the light to slip in to hold it. Problem is that I found that I perfer to read my Kindle 2 without a jacket/cover attached. So I returned the M-edge reading light and the M-edge latitude jacket and went instead with this light(OCTOVO SOLIS) and the M-edge Touring Sleeve. Please leave me comments if you like.
